Metzger is a census-designated place and unincorporated community, in Washington County. As of the 2000 census, the CDP population was 3,354. Its name is derived from the German word for "butcher". == History == Herman Metzger platted the community, which was actively marketed from 1908–1909. The south branch of the Oregon Electric Railway passed through the community, and had a stop that was located off Locust Street east of Jefferson.
